After irregularities were discovered in the roof construction of the Swiss Life Arena during quality controls in December, the construction site had to be re-organised and as a result the commissioning of the stadium has been delayed. The 2022 World Floorball Championships will therefore be the first major event to be held in the new home of the ZSC Lions.

During a quality control in December, irregularities were discovered in the assembly and material of individual screws. Investigations by the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research showed that screws in the roof construction had to be replaced. The resulting re-organisation of the construction site is very demanding and delays the commissioning of the arena. Nevertheless, the operation of the Swiss Life Arena can be confirmed for the 2022 World Floorball Championships (WFC) from 5 to 13 November. The 2022 championships will be the first major event to be held in the new Swiss Life Arena. The ZSC Lions will play their first home games in their new home venue after the WFC.
