The OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland) will support the World Floorball Championships 2022 in Switzerland as an “Innovation Partner” and produce a wide variety of awards such as the Allstar Team Award or the Green Goal Award using forward-looking technologies.

As an innovation partner, OST supports the World Floorball Championships in Zurich and Winterthur with various in-house developments. For example, the awards for various prizes are produced in an innovative process from balls and stick blades that can no longer be used. The discarded material is processed and turned into filaments to produce the awards in a 3D printer. In collaboration with the WFC supplier stockschlag.ch, defective floorball material will be collected from floorball clubs over the next few months.

Fans will also be able to take home an extraordinary souvenir: The OST will produce special “Funballs”. These consist of two freely selectable colored ball halves and are personalized with a lettering (for example the name). The “Funballs” can be ordered in conjunction with products from WFC sponsor Unihoc, either online or directly on site, and picked up a short time later.

Prof. Dr. Frank Ehrig, Project Manager WFC 2022 at OST: “We are delighted to be present at the World Floorball Championships as an “Innovation Partner” and to support the enjoyment of the sport with our technology as well as to share our enthusiasm for technology with the fans.”

“It is great to develop projects with such a technically skilled and motivated partner as the OST, which offer added value for the fans but also support our Green Goal,” says Daniel Kasser, Managing Director of WM 2022, about the partnership.
