“Gold” is now the official song of the Men’s World Floorball Championships 2022 and is available on all platforms. The catchy song was written by Andryy, the multi-instrumentalist from Winterthur, Switzerland, together with Dabu Bucher (Dabu Fantastic) as well as Luk Zimmermann (Lunik). It describes the way to any team’s greatest dream: a gold medal.

The official song of the Men’s WFC 2022 in Zurich and Winterthur is all about the main goal, the gold medal. On the road to the gold medal, barriers have to be overcome and sacrifices must be made. The Winterthur newcomer Andryy sings about the iron will of athletes to place this success above everything else, who push themselves to their limits and who believe in the dream. For the musician, it is clear: It was important to me to write a song that I not only liked personally, but that would also inspire the players.” Even if Andryy does not consider himself a floorball expert, he is not moving in unknown territory: “I did play the sport often and enjoyed it in my younger years. In addition, I have already been at the AXA Arena as an enthusiastic spectator. It makes me very proud to know that my music can unite the people at this event and motivate the participating teams.”

The song is not only meant to embody the spirit of the World Championship,  but also floorball as a sport. With the Men’s WFC 2022 taking place in Switzerland, floorball is playing on a great stage and is exciting for young and old alike. The home WFC 2022 is quite the largest stage for Swiss floorball until now, so the previous, very positive development of the sport should be promoted even further.

Starting today, Friday, the official WFC song can be purchased at music stores. On October 22, Andryy will perform the song live for the first time at the Floorball party at the Zurich Hauptbahnhof, the main train station, where the Swiss national team will be sent off to the WFC preparations. From  November 5 to 13, 16 nations will be playing for the gold medal in the Swiss Life Arena in Zurich Altstetten and the AXA Arena in Winterthur.
